Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology—PhD

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• A master’s degree (or non-U.S equivalent) in an area appropriate to the major from an accredited institution and a minimum graduate GPA of 3.5 (Applicants with lower GPA may be admitted upon consideration of the composite profile).
• Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in specified ancient and two modern foreign languages that support the specific research goal—these would typically be selected from the following: Latin, Hebrew, Greek, French, German, Italian and Arabic.
• Three Recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors, and employers.
• Resume describing employment, research or special projects.
• GRE General test from exam taken within five years. 
• Statement of Purpose reflecting your philosophical perspective, personal, professional, academic goals, and reasons of seeking the graduate program.
• Writing sample (term paper, thesis, or research report) giving evidence of the applicant’s ability to carry out research and to present results in a standard and acceptable style.
• TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic): Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency tests scores.
• Seminary Background Screening.
